The Hidden Lair has a section of it’s store dedicated to demo games. The demo game sections is filled with such games as; Hero Quest, Magic the GatheringKaijudo, Nuclear War, Munchkins, Ninja Vs Ninja, Pirate Vs Pirate, The Legend of Drizzt, Ender’s Game, and Zombies to name a few. “I want people to feel comfortable when they come in. I want them to know that they don’t have to buy something every time they come in or feel pressured to only buy at our store. That is not the type of environment we want to create. Obviously we have to stay in business and I think everyone understands that, but our main priority is to provide a service to the gaming community of Central Illinois.”, said Andy Still, manager at The Hidden Lair, this past weekend during a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament. The Hidden Lair services Decatur and surrounding towns like; Mt Zion, Cerro Gordo, Tuscola, Assumption, Harristown, Warrensburg, and Forsyth. Every weekend the store has dozens of people come in to play games such as Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Kaijudo. “We offer many of these games in the demo section so people don’t have to invest in the games in order to play them. We understand there will be players that wish to purchase and collect these items, but there are many that don’t. We don’t want that to stop people from gaming. By offering these items for general use, it allows people the ability to enjoy the games, try out something new, and have some fun! We also provide Magic The Gathering commons and uncommon for $.10 each. We then host tournaments where players can only use these two types of cards. The winner of those tournaments wins a full box of Magic The gathering cards valued at $140 retail.”, he said. The store really wants to focus on family board night as well. Every Thursday will be dedicated for free game play, with our demo section as the focal point. Everyone at The Hidden Lair would like to bring back the notion that families can get together and spend quality time without spending money. So Decatur gamers, feel free to come on into our store anytime, you will be glad you did!
