When Everything is in Fluxx

FluxxWith most games, its important to have a clear understanding of the rules before you play. Not with this game, however, because the rules are always in Fluxx.

Fluxx is an amazingly fun little card game by Looney Labs. The basic premise of the game is simple; you draw a card, and then you play a card. Easy, right? Well that is only just the beginning. You see, Fluxx is a game about ever changing rules. Each card you draw bring something new to the table and the game is less about strategy and more about just playing a game to have a lot of fun.

Its awesome, but it gets even better.

Looney Labs has announced the new Fluxx sets soon to hit shelves and we here at the Hidden Lair are ready to make room for them. What are these new sets, you ask? Well, first we’ve got Batman Fluxx coming out August 8th. That’s right. BATMAN Fluxx. We are talking crazy fun with one of the best characters in all of comics and his amazing rogue’s gallery. No matter how cool something is, it can always be made cooler with Batman… or Cthulhu. Oh, wait, Cthulhu Fluxx is already available.

What could top that? How about Adventure Time Fluxx, coming out August 21st. Love it or hate it – and I have not met many people out there who really hate it – Adventure Time is wonderfully creative and throwing that into a game like Fluxx can only add to the amazing insanity of it.

Next we have Fluxx Dice, an addition to any existing version of Fluxx rather than a standalone set. Fluxx Dice adds even more of a random element to the game as you roll the dice each turn to determine what rules will change.

So come on by and check out any of the already available Fluxx games like Star Fluxx, Cthulhu Fluxx, and more or grab one of these new sets when they launch. Some in soon, as we will have some special goodies for you at launch, including Batman and Adventure Time Fluxx posters and an exclusive retailer promo card for each of the two sets; Clayface for Batman Fluxx and and Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant for Adventure Time Fluxx – yeah, crazy but awesome.

Be sure to ask if you have any questions about Fluxx or would like to give the game a try, or any one of our demo games found at the store.

And if you want to know more about what I, the Gamemaster, think about Fluxx, be sure to check out the discussion in Hidden Works over at Gamemaster’s Gametable.

We hope to see you soon.
